Kalous, Helen Rose
Helen Rose Kalous, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow in Anderson Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services Monday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Helen was born June 15, 1923, in rural Johnson County near Shueyville, the daughter of Jerry and Rose Netolicky. She married Robert Kalous on Aug. 23, 1939. She loved gardening, her flowers, camping, fishing, animals, and time spent with her dog, Patches.
Helen is survived by her three sons, Lee (Donna), Ken (Patty) and Duane (Carol); five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Jerry Netolicky.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Ivan; parents; and her sister-in-law, Doris.
