Kaiser, Jerry L.
Jerry L. Kaiser, 70, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, July 4, 2010. A celebration of life will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jerry's home, 1951 A Ave NE, Cedar Rapids. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Cedar Rapids; children, Kevin (Melanie) Kaiser of Ontario, Calif., Tony Kaiser of Los Angeles, Calif., Kelly (Michael Mills) Berryman of Cedar Rapids, Kim Osborn of Cedar Rapids, and Karen (Dennis Born) Kaiser of Camdenton, Mo.; grandchildren, Jotni Huebner, Kialy Berryman and Jaedyn Berryman and three grandchildren in California; bothers, Joe Peska and Arthur Wilks; sisters, Jessie Wilks and Charlene Hunt; his dog, Brandy; and former son-in-law, Layne Berryman.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Jerry Lee Jr.; and three brothers.
Gerald Lee Kaiser was born Sept. 19, 1939, in Wichita, Kan., the son of Helen Kaiser. He served in the U.S. Navy and later in the Naval Reserves. On June 26, 1979, he married Shirley Dobbs in Cedar Rapids. He had previously worked for the City of Cedar Rapids Recreation Department until retirement. He enjoyed taking his dog for walks, computers and his CB radios.
