Just, Lucille T.
Lucille T. Just, 87 of Cedar Rapids, passed away at home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. A private family burial will be held in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services Friday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Lucille was born March 23, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Godfrey and Eleanor (Drahos) Medulan. She married Robert Just on Jan. 23, 1945, in Cedar Rapids. She had worked at Bordens Ice Cream, Pratt Audio, Honey Creek Orchards as well as housecleaning for many years until retiring. Most recently, she was volunteering at Witwer Food Service within St. Mark's Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to church and being involved with her husband in home ministry and Bible studies. Lucy was proud of her Czech heritage, and enjoyed playing the accordion, as well as attending polka festivals all over the area.
Lucy is survived by her grandchildren, Tawnya (John) Monnier of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kris Smith (Tiffany Klemetson) of St. Augustine, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Jakob and Lauryn Monnier; a sister, Gladys Wintringer of Cedar Rapids; among other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; brothers, Albert and Lumir Medulan; and her daughter, Joanne Just.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy or to the family at 8805 Brighton Hill Circle East, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
