Junge, Dale Keith
Dale Keith Junge, 79, Cedar Rapids, formerly of Keystone, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 4210 Johnson Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, with Dean Rothchild presiding. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, and one hour before service. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn; son, David Junge (Mary); daughter, Diane Kelley; and one grandson, Matt Junge, all of Cedar Rapids; nephews, Dan, Dennis and Doug Schmuecker; niece, Loretta Brickley; and an aunt, Pearl Schuldt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Kruckenberg.
Dale was born March 1, 1932, in Keystone, to Harry and Irene (Schuldt) Junge. He married Marilyn Stolper on Oct. 3, 1953, in Luzerne, Iowa. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict from 1953 to 1955. He farmed in the Keystone area, until he moved to Cedar Rapids in 1992. He loved to golf and his woodworking.
He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Keystone American Legion Post #107, Keystone Turners and in past years served on the Schroeder Public Library Board, Keystone Nursing Home Board and was Homer Township Clerk.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice of Mercy, Hiawatha.
