JUNE HENKLE
Vinton
June Jeanette Henkle, 92, of Vinton, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church in Vinton, with Pastor Lexie Kirkpatrick officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton and one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
June was born June 29, 1921, in Vinton, the daughter of Raymond P. and Orpha Ross Evans Keller. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Vinton in 1939.
On June 9, 1940, June was united in marriage with G. Keith Henkle at Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church in Vinton. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1991. She then married Adrian Henkle; he also preceded her in death.
June was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of Stewart
Memorial United Methodist Church.
June is survived by four sons, Ken (Karen) Henkle of Vinton, Larry (Deanne) Henkle of Garrison, Lynn (Carol) Henkle of Independence and Lowell (Sherri) Henkle of Vinton; one daughter, Judy (David G.) Henkel of Vinton; two sisters, Rozella (Val) Patrilla of Vinton and Hazel Peters of Cedar Rapids; 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one brother, Ray Keller; and two sisters, Leota Gottsch and Lucille Wiggins.
A memorial fund has been established.
