June C. Anthony, 87, of Robins, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Memorial services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories officiated by the Rev. Dennis Johnson. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
June was born June 29, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, to Olaf and Selma (Ferguson) Longberg. She graduated from McKinley High School. She was united in marriage to Fred Albert Anthony on May 4, 1952, in Cedar Rapids. To this union, two sons were born.
June was a supportive wife and mother. She had previously worked at Penford. June was an animal lover, who especially enjoyed caring for pet cats over the years.
She was a former member of Western Fraternal Life Lodge 13. She volunteered at the Czech School and at Cedar Rapids schools. June looked forward to her monthly Wednesday Rockwell dinners, where she could socialize with old friends. Her greatest joy was her family. Her children and grandchildren were her whole life. Her family will always treasure her legacy of love and devotion.
June is survived by her sons, Michael (Margie) Anthony of Cedar Rapids and Robert (Stacy) Anthony of Center Point; and four grandchildren, Michelle Anthony of Cedar Rapids, Abby (Rick) Cornelison of Cedar Rapids, Heather Lindell of Center Point and Derek Anthony of Cedar Rapids.
June was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Fred, in 2010.
