Julie A. Rhea, 63, of rural Oelwein, formerly of the Cedar Rapids and Marion area, died at her home on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, Cedar Rapids.
Julie is survived by her husband, James; son, James H. Rhea; daughter, Jamie Halvorsen; adopted son, Randy Burgess; grandchildren, Emily Rhea, Isaac Rhea, Diego Rhea, Nathanyael Rhea and Kirsten and Jordan Young; and great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Tielebein. She also is survived by her father, Charles F. Smith and stepmother, Kathy Smith; brothers, Charles Smith, Thomas Smith and Donald Smith, and their wives; many nieces and nephews; and stepbrothers, Jason, William and Steven Evans.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Smith; and grandmother, Verle Daywitt.
