Julie Mottinger, 56, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at Royal Oaks Care Center, Kewanee, Ill. Services: 1 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Pastor Bob Voels, with a visitation from noon until service time. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her sister, Laura Mottinger of Crofton, British Columbia, Canada; nieces, Aurora Cardriver and Cyrene (Jacob) Hokanson; one great-niece; two great-nephews; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Laura Mottinger; and sister, Merry Mottinger.
Julie was born Jan. 21, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Louis and Laura Mottinger. She attended school in Cedar Rapids. Julie was talented in music and art, and had a great sense of humor when she was feeling well. She helped to take care of her father after his heart attack. Julie also completed courses at Kirkwood Community College for nurse's aide/orderly for long term care facilities in March 1983. Her faith was important to her.
