Julie Lynne King-Gire, 34, of Hiawatha, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, conducted by Pastor Michael Metz. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Julie was born March 17, 1983, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Steven and Donna (Hall) King. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School in 2002. On June 3, 2006, Julie was united in marriage to Brad Gire at Kenwood Park United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. She was a big fan of auto racer Kevin Harvick and the Iowa Hawkeyes. She enjoyed playing cards, listening to country music and being with her son and husband.
She is survived by her husband, Brad Gire; son, Matthew Gire; mother, Donna King; siblings, Debi King, Roy King and Jeff King; nieces and nephews, Ryen, Natalie, Trenton, Kolton and Kameron; mother- and father-in-law, David and Kathy Gire; and brothers-in-law, Jason (Heather) Gire and Brett Gire.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, Steven King, and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
