Julie Ireland, 63, died Tuesday April 1, 2025 at Harmony of Waterloo following an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 Wednesday morning, April 9, 2025 at the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 9 until 11 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello. Pastor David Raemisch will officiate at the services.
Surviving is her sister Cathy (Dennis) Bossard and a sister in law, Mary Ireland. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 brothers, Brad, Richard and Robert Ireland.
Julie Kay Ireland was born November 27, 1961 at Manchester, Iowa. She was the daughter of Gilbert and Bernita Grapes, Ireland. Julie graduated from the Monticello Community Schools and continued her education at Mount Mercy College receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Julie worked her whole career as a traveling nurse, working in California, Florida, New York City, and the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. In 2005 health issues caused her early retirement and she was in care at Morning Sun, Washington and Waterloo care facilities.
