Services for Julie Elaine Thede, 64, of Ackworth, who passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024, in Des Moines, will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Cremation will follow services and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
In 1979, Julie gave birth to her daughter Kelli. June 2002, she joined Danny Thede in marriage and with that union welcomed two more daughters to her family, Michelle and Danielle. Julie graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She retired in October 2013 after approximately 30 years with Hy-Vee. Julie loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed scrapbooking, crafting and reading. Every year Julie volunteered with the Festival of Trees and Lights. She also volunteered her time and talents to Blank Children’s Hospital and Born an Angel, Iowa. She loved introducing various friends and family to the National Balloon Classic. Julie had a great passion for traveling with her husband Danny, and girls’ trips with her friends. Spending time with her family was always a priority to her.
Julie is survived by her husband, Danny; children, Kelli (Dan) Olson, Danielle (Derek Irlmeier) Reinert, and Michelle (Tyson) Irwin; grandchildren, Kaylee Irlmeier, Drake Irwin, Arya Reinert, Coltyn Irwin, Lily Olson and Callen Reinert; parents, Richard Enneking and Donna Banks; siblings, Nancy (Dennis) Rice, Dennis (Peggy) Enneking, Kathy Bissell, and Sheri Enneking. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as many friends. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Billie Enneking; step-father, Lloyd Banks; and brother-in-law, Dennis Bissell.
