Julie Ann (Muller) Maas, 68, of Montezuma, Iowa, passed away on December 18, 2025.
Julie was born in Iowa City, Iowa, to Leroy and Lavera (Duffey) Muller. She was raised alongside her siblings - Dianne Nelson, James Muller, Joseph Muller, and Don Muller - and shared a close and loving childhood. Julie grew up in Riverside and later moved with her family to Iowa City, where she graduated from Iowa City High School.
Julie spent many years working at Muller Plumbing and Heating and later, acquired the business with her brother, Jim, continuing the family legacy with dedication and pride.
She was united in marriage to Burdette "Bud" Maas, and together they shared a life filled with love, companionship, and many cherished memories. Bud was her husband and best friend.
Julie was known for her warm and welcoming spirit and her joy in bringing people together. She loved entertaining, and her home was often filled with laughter and friendship. Many will fondly remember the festive gatherings she and Bud hosted at their lakeside home on Lake Ponderosa.
She enjoyed fishing for crappies, and morel mushroom hunting. She also enjoyed spending time playing video poker at the local casinos.
Julie is survived by her husband, Bud Maas of Montezuma; her sister, Dianne (Richard) Nelson of Kalona; her brother, Don (Cathy) Muller of Woodland Hills, California: several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; cousins; and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and LaVera Muller, and her brothers, James and Joseph Muller.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Services, Iowa City. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Lensing Funeral Home from 4 PM to 7 PM.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital.
