Julia Ann Dyson, 66, of Robins, passed away July 10, 2016, after a long battle with cancer.
Julia was born Oct. 11, 1949, in Cedar Rapids to George and Helen Wortman.
Julia is survived by her husband of 43 years, Garry; her sisters, Claudia and Jane; her brothers, David and Tom; sister-in-law, Darlene (Richard); nieces and nephew.
Julia's life's passion was her horses and teaching horseback riding lessons. She was active in the horse community in Eastern Iowa for many years. She also loved her cats and English setters.
Julia served on the Robins Volunteer Fire Department for 11 years. Her paramedic skills were very valuable to the department.
In accordance with Julia's wishes, there will be an open house in remembrance of her life on Aug. 18 at the Dyson residence from 4 to 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center or the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
