At the time of her death, Irene was living in Cedar Rapids with her twin sister, Thekla, and Tim and Sherri Dohrmann, Thekla's son and daughter-in-law;

For all of her life, Irene was blessed to have known her Lord and Savior in a very personalway. Irene was always a large part of her church, she taught Sunday school, sang in church choirs, often sang solos for weddings and other special events and shewas an active member in the church women's groups. Irene was loved andtreasured by many friends and relatives - to know her was to love her.
