Judy (Cunningham) Peters of Fairfax, Iowa, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Nov. 27, 2017, after an 18-month battle with myelodysplastic syndrome. A visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 30, at Chapel of Memories in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery from 4 p.m. to service time at 6 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Judy was born and raised in Paris, Ill., on Aug. 19, 1934, and died at the age of 83 years. She met her high school sweetheart, Don, in 1951 and married him on May 14, 1955. She lived in multiple states, but called Cedar Rapids/Amana her home over the past 37 years. She worked for many years in various Amana wineries.
She enjoyed doll collecting, playing games with family, spending time with family, enjoying her grandchildren, and watching golf. Judy loved game shows and wintering in south Texas with family and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Helen Cunningham; loving sister, Patty Cunningham; and cherished son, Tim Peters.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Don Peters; her four children, Steve (Deb) Peters, Donna Peters (Ted Devine), Scott (Bridget) Peters and Lee Peters; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
