Judy So Yu Pei, 95, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday July 4, 2021. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday July 10, at Cedar Memorial Stateroom with a private family service following. Burial will take place in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, James (Mia) Pei of California, Katy (Ralph) Kuo of Illinois, Angela Lee of Michigan, Chen Li (Alan) Chen of Illinois and Gary (Ling) Pei, Tom (Alice) Pei and David Pei, all of Iowa; and her grandchildren, Robert (Carol) Pei, Jon Pei, Ronald (Tania) Pei, Brandon Pei, Ryan Pei, Andy Pei, Susan Pei, Emily Pei, Paulina Pei, Alex Pei, Leo Pei, Calvin Kuo, Jeffrey (Suzie) Lee, Brian (Eva) Lee, Wendy Sung, Frank (Angela) Sung, Amy (Chris) Broadstone, Jason Chen and Amelia (Vince) Santos. Also surviving are 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Pei; and her daughter, Chen Ping Sung.
Judy was born Dec. 12, 1925, in China. She moved to North Korea, where she married William G. Pei. They moved to South Korea during the war and later moved to the United States in 1977. Her joy was in taking care of her family.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Living Center West and Living Center East for the loving care they gave to Judy.
