Judith Margaret Stoner,
72, of Cedar Rapids, passed
on Monday, May 13, 2019. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will
be held one hour before the service. Following the service, a time of food and fellowship will take place at 10004 Hawks Haven Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids.
Judith Margaret Mefford was born June 23, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to LaVerne and Margaret (Boss) Mefford. She graduated from Marion High School in 1964. Judy married Gary Stoner on June 18, 1966, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She was employed by Northwestern Bell/Qwest and retired from there. Judy was a union steward for the phone company. While living in Des Moines, she was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Some of Judy's favorite passions were celebrating holidays, being an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan, her cats, faith, family and friends.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Heather (Dan) Huppert of Minnesota and Deb (Chad) Mejia of Colorado; four grandchildren, Matt Mejia, Kaylee Mejia, Tyler Mejia and Emma Huppert; and seven siblings, Dick (Sharon) Mefford, Bill (Cindy) Mefford, Marcia May, Pat Mefford, Carol Kauffman, Cheryl Reding and Jim (Deb) Mefford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother-in-law, Mark Reding; and a nephew, Nick Kauffman.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Food Bank of Iowa.
