Judith A. McConnel, 73, of Tiffin, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at Mercy Iowa City. Private family services have been held. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City cared for her family and arrangements.
Judith Wirene was born June 17, 1943, in St. Louis, Mo., to Lowell and Susie Wirene. She was a 1961 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. Judy married Donald McConnel on Jan. 2, 1981, in Tulsa, Okla. She was a U.S. Navy veteran, worked for IBM and retired from the University of Iowa.
Surviving her are her husband, Donald; four children; and her numerous grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Susie Widens; her father, Lowell Widens; and her sister, Mary (Wirene) Howsare.
Judy was an exceptional person, very caring and loved her family deeply. She will be greatly missed.
