Judith Agnes Martin, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 30, 2017. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. A vigil service will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Justin) Kupka of Van Horne; two sons, Russell (Sheilah) and Jason (Samantha) Martin of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; her fiance, Willard James of Cedar Rapids; and several brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Judy was born June 18, 1951, in Manchester, the daughter of Emil and Helen Goedkon Wilgenbusch. She graduated from the nursing program at Kirkwood Community College as a licensed practical nurse. She retired in 2011 as a nurse after 42 years. During her career, she served more than 21 years at Mercy Medical Center and 19 years at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge and the Red Hat Ladies.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
