Judith (Judy) Kay Newgaard, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha. Service: 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa. Visitation:
10 to 11 a.m Monday, June 4, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial: Alice Cemetery, Center Point.
Judy was born Aug. 25, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Morris and Vera (Christenson) Ginn. She graduated from McKinley High School. Judy worked at Square D for 37 years on the assembly line building circuit breakers.
Judy enjoyed spending time with her best friend and late sister, Phyllis Noeller. She liked spending time with family and friends at Holiday Lake and making trips to Arizona to visit family. Judy also enjoyed her lunch time with her sorority girls once a month for many years. Her other hobbies included sewing, making teddy bears and watching her crime television shows.
Judy is survived by her sons, David S. (Jeri) Newgaard of Phoenix, Ariz., and Michael L. Newgaard of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Nicholas, Taylor, Dillon, Cole, Megan and Nicole; sister-in-law, Sandi Ginn; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vera Christenson-Ginn-Akers and Morris Ginn; sister, Phyllis Noeller and her husband, Marvin; and brother, Wayne Ginn.
Memorial may be directed to Hospice of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa.
