Judith "Judy" Ann Schmidt, 79, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial: St. John's Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Judy was born March 30, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Wencil and Irene (Sirowy) Kremenak. She graduated in 1957 from St. Patrick High School in Cedar Rapids. Judy was a secretary at Mercy Medical Center for many years and she was a member of St. Ludmila Catholic Church, where she participated in the St. Monica Circle and Prayer Shawl Ministries. Judy served on the school board and booster club for St. Ludmila School and enjoyed watching her sons' activities. She loved to play cards and enjoyed dinner with friends.
Judy is survived by her son, Andrew (Stacie) Schmidt of Windsor Heights, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Linda Schmidt of Maryland; sister, Pat Davis, nephew, Matt Davis, and great-niece, Amanda Davis, all of Oregon; and great-uncle, Harold Sirowy of Swisher, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wencil Kremenak and Irene (Sirowy) Kremenak Phillips; and son, Michael Schmidt.
