Judith Anna Pierson Adams, formerly of Iowa City, passed away peacefully at Denver Hospice (Colorado) on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014.
A memorial celebration of Judy's life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11:30 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Iowa City. Burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City.
The family requests no flowers and plants yet appreciates memorials which can be sent to Denver Hospice, 501 S. Cherry St., Denver, CO, 80246 or to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center, c/o the

Born March 22, 1938, the daughter of Lawrence E. Pierson M.D. and Alma G. Pierson R.N., Judy received her R.N. degree at the University of Iowa and began her career there, later working at University of Minnesota Hospitals and Scottsdale Memorial Hospital in Arizona.
David and Judy married at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Iowa City Nov. 11, 1978, later moving to Ottumwa, Iowa. In 1980, David and Judy relocated to Madison, Wis., where David practiced for 22 years. As Judy's health failed in recent years, David decided to retire early, be at home and care for her.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. David Adams of Colorado; brothers, John Pierson of Plymouth, Minn., and Jim Pierson of Columbus, Ohio; and a sister, Joan Pierson Scroggs of Mesa, Ariz.
Judy will be dearly missed by members of the extended Hills and Adams families.
