Juarez, Lucy Olvera
Lucy Olvera Juárez, 93, a resident of Iowa City since 2009 entered eternal life on Monday, May 21, 2012.
The daughter of Agustín Olvera and Donaciana De La Rosa, Lucy was born in Gregory, Texas on May 11, 1919. She married Andrew H. Juárez in 1950, in Lincoln, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 11, 1989; and her nephew, Manuel J. Juárez on May 15, 2012.
Lucy lived most of her life in Davenport until moving to Iowa City to live with her nephew, The Rev. Rudolph T. Juárez.
She is survived by various relatives including immediate nephews and nieces and their spouses, Joseph Augustine Juárez, Robert and Carmen Juárez, Mary and Steve Smith, Richard and Sherry Juárez, all of the Quad Cities, and Father Juárez of Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 516 Fillmore St., Davenport, Iowa, with visitation at 9 a.m. and the celebration of Mass at 10 a.m., followed by burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.
