Joyce Ruckebeil Taylor, 54, of Coralville and formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home by Deacon Tom Walsh. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, where friends may visit with the family Monday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday after 9:30 a.m.
Survivors include two daughters, Dana Ruckebeil of Coralville, and Crystal Taylor of Iowa City; two sons, Paul Ruckebeil Jr. of Hills, and Michael Taylor of Coralville; six grandchildren; three sisters, Janet (Francis) Douglas and Jo Davies, both of Cedar Rapids, and Jerri (Roger) Dix of New Braunfels, Texas; and a brother, John (Donna) Reding of Mason City.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Paul Ruckebeil Sr.; her sister, Jean Becker; and her niece, Sarah Reding.
Joyce was born April 23, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of John and Esther Virginia Merklin Reding. She graduated from Kennedy High School in 1978 and worked for Keil's Maintenance for 15 years.
Joyce loved spending time with her family and her dogs. She enjoyed Hawkeye football, fishing and gardening.
