Joyce A. Staab, 89, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton. Private family graveside services will be held at St. John Cemetery near Newhall.
Joyce was born Dec. 15, 1929, on a farm North of Blairstown to Charles and Emma (Zamastil) Bistline. She attended schools in Van Horne and Newhall. Joyce was united in marriage to Berdell Staab on Sept. 9,
1950, in Clarion. She worked side by side with her husband on the farm. Berdell preceded Joyce in death on Dec. 17, 2010.
Joyce is survived by her three sons, Roy (Lois) Staab of Cedar Rapids, David (Kim) Staab and Gerald (Judy) Staab, all of Vinton; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Elsie Whitsell and Jean Reid; and her sister-in-law, Selma Kaiser.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Charlene Staab; her sisters, Lucille Meyer and Verna Rushton; her brothers, Don and Harley Bistline; and her sister-in-law, Norma Weekly.
Memorials may be directed to the Vinton Lutheran Home or Virginia Gay Hospital.
