Joyce Kay Riley passed away Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. The funeral service and committal are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 21st Avenue, Blairstown, with Pastor Max Mons officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are with Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
Joyce Simmons was born May 25, 1938, to Owen and Alice Simmons, Blairstown. She was baptized June 5, 1938, and gained the victory that Christ won for her. She married William Riley on July 23, 1976.
Joyce is survived by her husband, William; three children, Julie (Thomas) Trachta, John (Lori) Danker and Jayne (John) Salzbrenner; three stepchildren, Terry (Patty), Larry (Valerie) and Valerie (David) Haney; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine (Blaine) Simmons; two brothers, Dennis (Ruth) and Joe (Mary); two sisters-in-law, Kathleen and Karen; one brother-in-law, Edward (Frances); a
daughter-in-law, Sharon; and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and stepson, Garry.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Paul's Lutheran Chapel, 404 Jefferson St., Iowa City, IA 52245.
