Joyce M. Less, 69, of Anamosa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids with her loving family by her side.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories-Chapel State Room. Inurnment follows the memorial service in the Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum-Chapel Library.
Joyce was born July 5, 1947, to Willard and Florence (Putzier) Cueno in Maquoketa, Iowa. She was a 1965 graduate of Anamosa High School. She was united in marriage to Joseph Less on Sept. 24, 1966, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Anamosa. Joyce was employed by Rockwell Collins and retired after 37 years in 2002.
Joyce will be remembered for her huge heart and always putting others before herself. She loved to go gambling and loved baking, but her biggest joy was spending time with her grandson, Nate.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Jeana Less-David (John Miller); her grandson, Nate David; sister, Lila Kramer (John Walton); sisters-in-law, Joan Cueno and Ann McNamara; brothers-in-law, John (Carol) Less, Mike (Ruth Ann) Less and Henry Less Jr.; her nieces, Pat Kramer and Kathy (Mike) Kleinow; a nephew, Brian (Joan) Kramer; and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents; and her brother, Kenneth Cueno.
A memorial fund has been started in Joyce's name.
