Joyce Koppenhaver, 81, of Springville, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Joyce was born on April 12, 1941, in Martinez, Calif., the daughter of Clement and Ruth (Campbell) Mallerup. She graduated from Acalanes High School in Lafayette, California. In December of 1964, Joyce was united in marriage to James "Jim" David Koppenhaver, in Las Vegas, Nev. She worked for University of Texas Federal Credit Union for 16 years before retiring in 2002, she worked part time for Exchange State Bank in Springville during her retirement. Joyce's true passions were interior decorating and raising her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Joyce is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Jim Koppenhaver of Springville; children, Jules (Barbara) Accardi of Kyle, Texas, Angela Accardi (Frank Brisky) of Rockport, Texas, Tamara Bingham of Marion, Iowa, and David Koppenhaver of Springville; six grandchildren, Seth and Evan Mayland, Jade and Cady Jaimes, Jennifer Troswick, and Jocelyn Accardi; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Ann Van Desander of Marion and Elaine Bond of Kyle, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; half-brother, Roy Lee; grandson, Jules Accardi IV; and longtime special friend, Hope Lee.
