Joyce Ann Hartman, 81, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016, in her home. Services: 1 p.m. Monday, March 28, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
She is survived by her children, Donald Hartman, Vivian Wendling, Danny Hartman and David Hartman, all of Cedar Rapids; sister, Jean Vopalka of Belle Plaine; 15 grandchildren; and 20 1/2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hartman; parents, Vivian and Robert; son, Dale Hartman; and two brothers, Robert and Jim.
Joyce was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Robert and Vivian (Phillips) Heslop. She went to McKinley High School. Joyce married Donald Hartman on Jan. 26, 1951, in Cedar Rapids; the couple were together for over 50 years.
Joyce was a press operator for Clean Towel, then City Wide Cleaners, for many years. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, going for rides with Dad and Taffy, spending time with her family and grandkids and her puppy, Miss Lady.
Joyce was a loving, strong-willed woman, who will be forever in our hearts. She will be greatly missed.
