She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Harry Guse, in 1981.
Joyce Guse was born Aug. 30, 1921, in London, England, the daughter of Charles and Mary Ann Wood Gilbert. She served in the British Army during World War II, and was discharged with the rank of sergeant. She traveled to the United States on the Ile de France. On Jan. 11, 1947, she married Harry Guse in Hampton, Iowa.

She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
