Joyce M. Fehlhafer, 81, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017. The family will greet friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, where a service will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughter, Julie (William) Brouwer of Marshalltown; son, Jeff Fehlhafer of Marion; seven grandchildren, Laura (Andy) Dosh, Ben Brouwer, Sarah (Matt) Espy, Daniel Brouwer, Jenn (Andy) Turner, Jason Fehlhafer and Marisa Fehlhafer; seven great-grandchildren, Talia, Malachi, Norah, Collin, Miles, Jameson and Evander; and sisters, Shirley (Demar) Enget of Fairfax and Betty (George) Meyn of Spring Grove, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Joyce was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Libbie (Kust) Trpkosh. She graduated from Marion High School in 1953. At St. Paul's Lutheran church in Marion, on Nov. 28, 1954, she married Jerry Fehlhafer. Joyce worked in Sac City and Cedar Rapids in trust departments at banks. She was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Cedar Rapids. While growing up, Joyce was a 4-H member. She enjoyed baking kolaches, crocheting, painting and always staying busy.
A memorial fund has been established in Joyce's memory.
