Joyce Elaine Bruce, 79, of Cedar Rapids passed peacefully surrounded by family on December 31, 2025.
Joyce was born August 21, 1946, to Peter and Alice Schulmeister of Oelwein, Iowa. She graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School and was united in marriage to Jamie Lee Bruce on July 27, 1967.
Joyce worked for Collins Radio for many years. She was a loving mother and doting grandmother who loved puttering with her plants and cooking and baking for her family, especially during the holidays.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Jamie L. Bruce, children Jamie (Deanna) Bruce, Carrie (Jeff) Steadman, and Heather (Tyson) Long, sisters JoAnn Sherwood, Janette Simpson, and Julie Johnson, step-children James (Pam) Bruce, Robert Bruce, and Jenine McKinney, grandchildren Kristine, Hunter, Emma, Tylee, Kamryn, Samantha, Tristen, Jenna, Evan, Jon, Kathy, and Jessica, and 1 great-granddaughter Elaine.
She is preceded in death by both parents and sister Janice Shepherd.
Services will be held Thursday, January 8, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will begin at 10 am with service beginning at 11 am. A small luncheon to be held in the Cedar Memorial Family Center & Library following the burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Natasha and her team at Kolofon Health are truly outstanding. We are very fortunate to have found them and they became more than caregivers but part of the family and we will be forever grateful for their genuine care, concern, and love for Joyce.
