Joyce Ann Mumby, 77, of Belle Plaine, Iowa, passed away on Aug. 7, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Joyce was born Aug. 17, 1943, to Jerome and Rose (Dunnigan) Jansen on the family farm near Hartwick, Iowa. She attended country school near Hartwick and Belle Plaine High School. On Dec. 15, 1961, Joyce married Garry W. Mumby on the family farm. Together they worked the farm and raised their eight children. As their children grew older, Joyce went to work for Benco and, most recently, was a bartender at the Oasis.
Joyce loved spending time with family, especially her children, grandchildren and dogs, Jill and Jack.
She is survived by her children, Ronald Mumby of Cedar Rapids, Garry Wade (Marcia) Mumby, Becky (Shirley) Mumby, Timothy (Lynn Clubb) Mumby, Wayland Lloyd (Rhonda) Mumby, Scott Dwayne (Karla) Mumby, all of Belle Plaine, Kimberly Marie (James) Fisher of Monroe and Lynette Rosa (Robert Roggentien) Kruse of Belle Plaine; sister-in-law, Monica Jansen of Tama; 33 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garry (1993); and dogs, Snickers, Tough and Thunder.
Private family graveside will take place Monday, Aug. 9, at Ladora Cemetery, Ladora, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.neuhausfuneralservice.com.
