JOYCE MAE (STUECK) ANDRESEN

Joyce Mae (Stueck) Andresen, 80, passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at St. John Lutheran Church with the Rev. B. Andrew Wright officiating. Interment will be held
at the Keystone Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone. A memorial fund has been established.
Joyce was born Sept. 13, 1941, in Vinton, the daughter of Lorenz and Hulda (Seboldt) Stueck. She was baptized Oct. 19, 1941, and was confirmed April 3, 1955, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Van Horne. Joyce graduated from Van Horne Consolidated School as valedictorian of the Class of 1959. She attended Cedar Rapids Business College and worked for Paul McCoy Insurance.
On Sept. 16, 1962, Joyce was united in marriage to Dennis Andresen at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Van Horne. She became a member of St. John Lutheran Church and was an active member, teaching Sunday school and Bible class for over 20 years. She was a Dorcas member and served on several church boards. Joyce also participated in the Bethel Series at St. John.
Joyce fulfilled her childhood dreams of marrying a farmer and serving her Lord. She was a "farm girl" all of her life. She opened her heart and hands to many others, especially her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed baking cookies and feeding her family. Dennis and Joyce were married over 59 years.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; their children, Ronald (Joyce) Andresen, Rick (Denise) Andresen and Susie (Kendall) Thurm; seven grandchildren, Rachael (Alex) Wiebke, Emily (Ryan Nothwehr) Andresen, Jena (Brett) Heishman, Brandon (Becky) Andresen, Holly (Neil) Kimm, Mallory Thurm and Zachary Thurm; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; her brother, Larry Stueck; and her sister, Jean (Denny) Haberhern.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Delores Stueck.
