Joy A. Greene, 93, of Hills, died on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Atrium Village in Hills.
No public services will be held and her cremated remains have been interred at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Online condolences may be sent to her family at www.gayandciha.com.
Joy A. Schnoebelen was born Jan. 9, 1928, in Iowa City, the daughter of Louis V. and Zieta L. (Smith) Schnoebelen. She married William F. "Bill" Greene, on June 10, 1950. She graduated from the University of Iowa in 1951. Shortly after marriage, she and Bill moved to Princeton, N.J., where she worked for many years at Princeton University. In 2015, Joy and Bill returned to the Iowa City area after spending their retirement years in Washington State.
Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; brothers, Robert, Milton, Orville, Yaro "Jake" and Arnold "Duke"; and sister, Marie.
She is survived by many extended family members.
