Joshua VanLaningham, 37, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, from complications of diabetes. Private services will be held. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, is caring for Josh and his family.
Survivors include his parents, Sandy (Gordon) Estill and Bob VanLaningham (Dan Burkart); sisters, Jennifer VanLaningham, Jessica Estill and Amanda (Craig) Perkins; grandparents, Lori Wieser and David VanLaningham; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Joshua Ryan VanLaningham was born Sept. 27, 1981, in Manchester, to Bob and Sandy (Wieser) VanLaningham. He attended West Delaware High School, then moved to Cedar Rapids in 1998. Josh worked for Taco Bell for seven years, and enjoyed living a simple life. He liked playing games with his mom, especially chess, and would pick on his sisters.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chuck Wieser and Evelyn Ort; great-grandparents, Jose and Clara Wieser and Howard Sr. and Gertrude Bachanan; and pet dog, Pepper.
