Joseph W. Titlbach, 87, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospice Unit. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Brosh Chapel.
Joseph was born Sept. 9, 1930. He married Lois Jean Weinbrenner on Dec. 29, 1948, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fennimore, Wis. Joe worked at Wilson and Co./Farmstead Foods for over 45 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry, listening to country music, watching western movies and spending time with his family. Joe was a dedicated father and grandfather, but most of all, was a loving husband and caregiver to his wife, Lois.
Joe is survived by his children, Diana (Gene) Strother and Ronald Titlbach, both of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Lillian Ida Berns of Luxemburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto J. and Edith Ida Titlbach; brothers, John and Ernest; sister, Lucille Benhart; his wife, Lois; his daughter, Cheryl Parsons; and his grandsons, Lucious C. Prince Jr. and Benjamin Glenn Strother.
