Joseph, Revere 'Joe'

Revere “Joe” Joseph, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, May 29, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital. Private graveside services will take place. A visitation will be held Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m.

Joe is survived by his wife, Amy, of 60 years; four children, Garry Joseph of Oxford, Sam (Diane) Joseph of Spring Lake, N.C., Dr. Sue Joseph of Cedar Falls and Jean Leigh Joseph of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Sarah Lynk of Halifax, Nova Scotia. and Leila Houssian of Grand Prairie, Alberta; brother, Neiff Joseph of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia; and two grandchildren, Matthew Joseph and Leah Joslyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Audrey McCall; brother, Wilford Joseph; and in-laws, Aleck and Negebe Sheronick.

Joe was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, to Charles and Debbie Joseph. He married Amy Sheronick on Feb. 24, 1951, in Rock Island, Ill. He worked for Penford Products for 50 years, retiring Sept. 2, 2002.

Memorials may be directed to the HD Youth Center or a charity of the donor's choice.
