JOSEPH NAPIER
Marquette, Mich.
Joseph C. Napier, 89, of Marquette, Mich., formerly of Marion, died peacefully Jan. 5, 2016, and joyously entered the presence of his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, with the funeral service starting at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Jordan's Grove Cemetery, rural Central City.
Survivors include his children, Jerold (Debbie) Napier of Marquette, Mich., Sandra (Donald) LeClere of Marshall, Minn., and Jeffrey (Michele) Napier of Marquette, Mich.; grandchildren, Joseph (Cristin) Napier II of Verona, Wis., Jennifer (Adrian) Sybenga of Grand Rapids, Mich., Kaitlin Napier of Holland, Mich., Lisa LeClere of Marshall, Minn., Joshua LeClere of Marshall, Minn., Benjamin (Vivina) Napier of Dayton, Ohio, Samuel Napier of Fort Worth, Texas, John Napier of Marquette, Mich., and Philip Napier of Fort Collins, Colo.; as well as four great-grandsons; and four great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; son, Joseph Charles Napier; and two brothers, Dale Napier and Carroll Napier.
Joe was born May 23, 1926, in Whittier, Iowa, the son of Joseph A. and Belle (Carpenter) Napier. He graduated from Springville High School in 1944 and the University of Iowa in 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Joe was married to Betty A. Hensing for over 60 years. He held various accounting positions in New York, Ohio, Iowa and Minnesota during his working years.
