Joseph 'Joey” Frank Botello, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, March 18, 2018. Funeral Mass: noon Saturday, March 24, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Christopher Podhajsky. Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the Mass. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his sisters, Carmen Cisneros, Beatrice Johnson, Rose Mary Patterson, Mary Lou Hoag and Bonnie Jane Lederle; and many nieces and nephews.
Joey was born April 16, 1940, in Wells, Minn., the son of Anthony and Maria (Gutierrez) Botello. Uncle Joey will be remembered as a free spirit and loving brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army or Mission of Hope.
