JOSEPH "JOE" VINCENT BOUSEK JR.
Marion
Joseph "Joe" Vincent Bousek Jr., 84, of Marion, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow the services at St. John's Cemetery.
Joe was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Nov. 24, 1933, to Joseph and Rose Bousek. He married the love of his life, Linda Morley, on Nov. 23, 1968. Joe worked at Longview Fiber for 38 years. After retirement, they moved to Manchester, where he loved to fish for trout and watch his favorite Hawkeyes. He was a diehard Cubbie fan and finally got to see them win the World Series. His other passion was showing Wire Fox Terriers with his brother, Wayne Bousek. In 2015, they moved to Marion to be closer to their daughter and her family. He loved his family very much, especially his two grandchildren. He loved watching them play their sports and choir performances.
He brought joy to our lives, and in his own words, "He was very Loveable."
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Russell Pruess; and niece, Joni Pruess.
He will be remembered by his wife of 49 years, Linda Bousek; daughter, Brenda (Josh) Heth; his grandson, Jacob Heth; his granddaughter, Anna Heth, all of Marion; his brother, Wayne (Janie) Bousek of Greenville, Wis.; and many sisters- and brothers-in-laws and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe directed to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation in Joe's name.
