Joseph Paul DeMuth, 46, of Atkins, died suddenly Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a massive stroke. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, followed by a Celebration of Life at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his children, Breanna DeMuth and Sean DeMuth, both of Jesup; parents, Clem and Hilda DeMuth of Earlville; siblings, Michael DeMuth (Chelsi) of Hiawatha and Katie (Rob) Otto of Iowa City; and the love of his life, Kori Eastwood, and her children, Hunter, Sydnee and Jonah, all of Atkins.
Joseph was born on Aug. 5, 1969, in Layton, Utah, on Hill Air Force Base, the son of Clem and Hilda DeMuth. He graduated Guttenberg High School in 1988 and then attended Mount Mercy and Hawkeye Tech. Joseph was a cement finisher for the union.
