Joseph W. Boudreau, 79, of Iowa City, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Iowa City, with the Very Rev. Rudolph Juarez officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph Boudreau Memorial Fund.
Joseph was born July 25, 1936, in Kankakee, Ill., the son of Joseph and Margaret (Rund) Boudreau. Joseph was united in marriage to Barbara LaReau in Beaverville, Ill., and were married for 54 years. Joe was an employee at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for 14 years. Since 2007, he was a resident at Oaknoll Retirement Community.
Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking out and camping. He was very well known for his handcrafted wooden toys.
Joe is survived by his wife, Barbara; three children, Jeff (Kim) Boudreau of Cedar Rapids, Jeanne (Roger) Yoder of Spokane, Wash., and Michele Hamilton of Iowa City; a sister, Eva (Leo) Zwilling of Indianapolis; a son-in-law, John Pacha of Fairfax; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a daughter, Mary Pacha.
The family would like to thank the great nursing staff at Oaknoll and the quality care Joe received at University of Iowa Hospitals ICU and Palliative Care.
