Jorstad, Manley
Manley Jorstad, 96, of Morris, Ill., passed away Friday afternoon, Sept. 6, 2013, at Morris Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris, with Pastor Patrick Lohse officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St., in Morris.
Born July 16, 1917, in Newark, Ill., he was the son of Floyd and Dora (Dominy) Jorstad. He graduated from Newark High School. Manley married Charlotte Flatness at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris. They lived most of their married life in Danville and Morris.
Survivors include one daughter, Dr. Donna (Dr. Thomas) Feld of Marion, Iowa; one grandson, William Feld of Marion; one sister, Marjorie Anderson of Morris; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Charlotte on June 29, 2005; one granddaughter, Jacqueline “J.J.” Feld on Feb. 12, 2002; and three brothers, Wesley, Norman and Jerry Jorstad.
Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, J.J. Feld Endowed Scholarship Fund at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa or donor's choice.
