Jorgensen, James R.
James R. Jorgensen, 64, of Troy Mills, passed away Nov. 3, 2013. Private family services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Walker. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Circle Grove “Hoover” Cemetery in Walker. Military rites by American Legion Post 712, Troy Mills.
Jim was born June 9, 1949, in Sioux City, Iowa to Robert and Mary (Barrett) Jorgensen. He graduated from Heelen High School in 1967.
He worked for Link Belt/FMC, Clyde Industries and then retired from Rockwell Collins in September 2013. He was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 909. Jim was a member of the Elks Club. He served as a communication specialist in Vietnam from 1970 to 1972.
Jim's hobbies included spending time with family, enjoying friends at the 909 and Homeport, traveling with Kay, cooking-grilling, and canning.
Jim is survived by his best friend and companion, Kay Arp of Troy Mills; parents, Robert and Mary Jorgensen of Sioux City; sister, Helen (Richard) Maxedom of Louisville, Ky.; brother, Mark (Kathy) Jorgensen of Loveland, Colo.; the Arp family - Bob, Andrea, Kedryn, Mikalyn and Malayna of Troy Mills; son, Jason; daughter, Julie; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in Jim's honor.
