Jordan, Wesley 'Wes' E.

Wesley “Wes” E. Jordan, 82, of Robins, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a lingering illness. Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Mark Lofquist. Friends may visit the family one hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Norma; two children, Laurie Jordan of Cedar Rapids and Stan (Molly) Jordan of Toddville and their sons, Matthew (fiancee Amanda Timm) and Andrew; a brother, Dan Jordan of California; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Julie; four sisters; and one brother.

Wesley was born May 6, 1930, in Tama, Iowa, the son of Ezra and Agnes (Handlin) Jordan. He married Norma Campbell on May 3, 1959, in Cedar Rapids. Wes was employed at Rockwell Collins for 34 years, retiring in 1984.

Wes spent a great deal of time in his workshop in his garage. He could fix and make anything. He took great pride in helping out his family and friends with their projects. He also enjoyed playing guitar and the French harp. But his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandsons. They were truly the light of his life.
