Jons, Allen Charles
Allen Charles Jons, 63, of Marion, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Family will greet friends one hour before services.
Survivors include his children, Scott (Lisa Hobbie) Jons and Rodney Jons and friend Casey; a grandson, Ryan Kimball; sister, Bonnie (Gail) Matthews; brother, George (Cheryl) Jons; and Sylvia (Welsh) Johnson, mother of Allen's children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Pam Kimball; and two brothers, Vernie and Richard.
Allen was born March 13, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Vernon and Marian Jons. He farmed in the Coggon area and also worked construction. Allen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Memorials may be directed to the family in lieu of flowers.
