Jones, Robert
Robert Jones, 56, of Walker, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, 1844 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Connie Wacht.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia; sons, Jeremy Johnson of Cedar Rapids and Jeffrey Johnson of Fort Madison; daughter, Michelle Beshears of Oregon; brothers, Jerry (Cindy) Jones of Walker, Tom (Mary) Jones of Vinton and Don Jones of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Karen (Marvin) Johnson of Walker and Diane (Dewayne) Ringgenberg of Walker; three grandchildren, Brianna and Tre'von Johnson, and Kaine Beshears; a great-granddaughter, Adrianna; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was born Sept. 9, 1955, in Vinton, Iowa, the son of Glenn and Kathryn (Muth) Jones. He graduated from North-Linn High School in 1973. In 1983, he married Cynthia Johnson in Walker. Bob worked as a woodworker for many years. He enjoyed cooking and sports, especially the Hawkeyes, Vikings, Lakers, and the Dodgers. Bob treasured his grandchildren and being outdoors with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
