Jones, Lloyd E.
Lloyd E. Jones, 69, of 130 Birch Court, North Liberty, died Saturday, August 7, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City. Lloyd chose to be cremated. No services are planned at this time. Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City is handling arrangements.
Lloyd was born June 3, 1941, in Colby, Kan., the son of John E. and Mary E. (Pegram) Jones. Growing up in Colby, Lloyd served his country in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1968, during the Vietnam War. He married Erika Adler August 5, 1965, in Berlin, Germany, and upon his return from Vietnam, the couple moved to North Liberty. Lloyd worked for Hawkeye Food Systems in Coralville, for 30 years. Lloyd was also a member of the North Liberty American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Erika; sons, John Jones of North Liberty, and Michael (Sarah) Jones of Pacific, Mo.; brothers, Harold and Oscar; and sisters, Mary, Viola and Helen.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
