Jones, Emma A.
Emma A. Jones, 100, of 2362 Ross Rd., Palo, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Teahen Funeral Home by the Rev. Clinton Jeffers. Burial: Palo Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Emma is survived by a son, Rodney (Bonnie) Jones of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Nancy Klaner of Palo; grandchildren, Karla (Gary) Voss of Robins and Becky (Rob) Baskerville of Cedar Rapids; five great-grandchildren, Emily Richardson and Bob Baskerville, Lauren, Jordan and Peyton Baskerville; and three great-great-grandchildren, Eddie and Arabella Richardson and Emmy Baskerville.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, John, Frank and Peter; and a sister, Mary.
Emma Ann was born March 25, 1913, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of John and Mary (Kaplan) Pavek. She attended Palo School and lived in the same house her entire life. She married Lauren Glenn Jones on Feb. 15, 1929. He died in 1968. Emma farmed with her husband and was a member of the Church of Covington.
Emma spent her life tending to and taking care of her family at home. She enjoyed spending her time gardening, especially growing flowers.
